Amlip 10mg – Amlodipine Besylate Tablets

WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Amlip 10mg is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chest pain (angina). By lowering blood pressure, it helps prevent heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Amlip contains Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. It relaxes and widens the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing the workload on the heart.

HOW TO USE?
Take Amlip 10mg once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet with water. Follow your doctor’s dosage instructions strictly.

SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Swelling in the ankles or feet, dizziness, flushing, headache, fatigue
Rare: Irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, severe dizziness
Report any persistent or serious side effects to your doctor immediately.

WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

PRECAUTIONS

• Use with caution in patients with liver disease, heart failure, or severe hypotension

• Avoid activities requiring alertness if you feel dizzy or tired

• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding

WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?
Seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, fainting, rapid heartbeat, or swelling of face, lips, or throat indicating an allergic reaction.

CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you are taking:

• Other blood pressure medicines

• Antifungals like ketoconazole

• Antibiotics like clarithromycin

• Simvastatin (may need dose adjustment)
  Drug interactions may require dosage changes or monitoring.

FOOD RESTRICTIONS
Can be taken with or without food. Avoid grapefruit juice, as it may increase Amlodipine levels and side effects.

HOW TO STORE
Store at room temperature (15–30°C) in a dry place away from direct light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

PREGNANCY CATEGORY
Category C – Use only if clearly needed and under medical supervision. Not recommended during breastfeeding without consulting your doctor.
